Canna Indica
‘Indian Shot’

Canna indica is a South American species Canna, growing up to 2 meters in ideal conditions. The huge banana like leaves shoot from an under ground rhizomes to form a tall pseudo stem . Flowering in mid to late summer with delicate lily like flowers in red to orange/yellow. These plants make a great addition to the sub tropical garden and add great jungle effect to any boarder. Feed well throughout the summer for spectacular results. Plants die back in winter and will need to be protected in winter either by lifting and storing in dryish coir in a cool, frost free place or leaving and mulching with a thick layer of bark chip. Can also be grown in large pots or tubs and moved undercover in winter.
