Epiphyllum cactus ‘Pink Hybrid’
‘The Orchid Cactus’
Supplied in a 7cm pot
This stunning tropical cactus is surprisingly easy to grow. Treat as a house plant from September to May and then place outside in the semi shade for summer. Growing as an epiphyte in it’s native central and south Americas, it’s likes are similar to Orchids, but unlike orchids it can take a fair amount of abuse. Ideally keep cool and dryish throughout it’s winter rest and then ramp up feed and water before placing outside for summer. Flower buds appear normally in spring and will open when warmth and water are provided. The flowers are truly spectacular, being up to 20cm across and in salmon pink.
Plants supplied are produced by stem/leaf cuttings and vary in size and shape.
Full semi shade
Well drained soil
RHS hardiness rating H1c
Plants are supplied in a 7cm pot, with their compost and are similar to the plants seen in pictures 2 and 3. Picture one shows the flowers on a planted specimen and is not the plant for sale.
