Eriobotrya japonica
Common name: The loquat tree
Supplied in a 0.8 litre pot
Eriobotrya japonica is an excellent small tree for any sheltered garden. This small evergreen tree produces a flush of beautiful lime green growth in spring. The new growth develops into big evergreen leaves with a copper underside. In very warm sheltered gardens fruits will develop from the unremarkable spring flowers. The fruits are small peach like and are edible, however the seeds are toxic. This beautiful small evergreen tree will grow to around 6 meters, with a spread of 4 meters.
