This rare Nepalese perennial in the Zingiberaceae family, is a real gem. Exotic and yet hardy. This lovely Ginger lily produces a clump of 1.5 meter tall pseudo stems of Hedychium like Lanceolate leaves. The exotic foliage is topped off with long racemes of delicate arrow shaped flowers in warm yellow emerge from caramel coloured buds.
We have found this Himalayan ginger to be hardy here in our Wiltshire garden and is a great addition to any Jungle/ Tropical style garden. Grow in organic rich moist, but well drained soil in part to full shade. Globba are deciduous and benefit from a deep mulch of bark chip to help protect the underground rhizomes over winter.

Plants are supplied in a 7cm pot, with their compost and are similar to the plants seen in pictures 2 and 3. Picture one shows the flowers on a planted specimen and is not the plant for sale.
The plants on offer will need growing on for one year and over- wintered under glass, before planting out the following year.
